TRAINING CENTRE FOR ANGANWADI WORKERS AND HELPERS

The organization has initiated the Anganwadi Training Center (AWTC) as a catalyst to Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS). 

The AWTC is aimed to provide quality training to grass root level functionaries of ICDS, i.e., Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to deliver ICDS services such as basic health and hygiene, nutrition, pre-natal and post-natal maternal and childcare and child rearing, in an effective manner to their communities.

The project is being supported by the Women Development and Child Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh

The trainings in the AWTC are provided in a schematic pattern that emphasizes imparting knowledge on

• Nutrition and Health Care of Newborns, Infants and Young Children (Birth-6 Years).

• Protein Energy Malnutrition Among Children-Causes, Symptoms, Prevention and Management.
• Micronutrient Deficiencies Among Children: Causes, Symptoms, Prevention and Management.
• Organizing Supplementary Nutrition at an Anganwadicentres.
• Growth Monitoring and Promotion.
• Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness.
• Treatment of Childhood Illness.
• Treatment with Home Care and Advice.
• Assessment, Classification and Treatment of Common Childhood Illness.
• Prevention of Emerging Endemic Diseases among Children.
• Identification and Prevention of Disability among Children.
• Home Care, Advice and Counseling.
• Personal Hygiene and Safe Drinking Water
