DAY CARE CENTRES FOR THE AGED

 

In a Day Care Centre, Inmates present at the centres from to 8:00 am to 5:00 pm every day. After Prayer at 8:00 am they will be given break-fast. Each inmate voluntarily engages in help cleaning the provisions and cooking, rope making, leaf plate making and beads getting with rope, gardening works, etc. After lunch they will take rest or spend time with Books on moral education or religion. Some of the grannies spend in chit-chatting. By 5.00 pm they all leave to their homes.

The thrust of running Homes and Day Care Centers for the aged is to empower and improve the quality of living of older persons.

The Programme is closely monitored by a committee with a person from the organisation, one from the local village, one from the S.V.University and one from Padmavathi Mahila University and one eminent from the social work as members.  The committee meets periodically to monitor the functioning of the Home and Day Care Centers, suggesting ways and means of betterment of the programme. 


Sponsorship of the Aged

In addition to the Day Care Centers and Homes for the Aged, RASS is running an innovative project for the welfare of the aged with the financial support of Help Age India under which over 300 aged persons, who were subject to different degrees of neglect, receive benefit. The beneficiaries stay with their families and availed the following services.
