INSTITUTIONALIZING FARMING COMMUNITY THROUGH MUTUALLY AIDED CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES

 

Institutional credit is one of the major supporting factors for the farming community. Farmer collective will be another factor for rising of their voices as well as for information sharing. Keeping in view of the above, RASS has promoted 5 such collectives in all the respective watersheds registered under MACS act of 1995 to serve the objectives of –

  • Promoting collectives of farmers and landless.
  • Providing financial services and discipline among the farmers.
  • Strengthening the farmer’s organization.
  • Promoting farmer’s collectives including training and capacity building.

 

Started in the year 2015, the initiate is to benefit 2135 farmer families in 59 habitations in Chinnagottigallu, Pulicherla and PilerMandals of Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh.
