HEALTH CARE AND LIVELIHOOD SPONSORSHIP
Though the urban areas are having enough medical and health service providers, poor and the poorest in urban areas are unable to get quality health services due to high costing, lengthy processes, etc.
To cater to the primary health needs and address their concerns of such people, RASS has setup an Urban Health Center at Tirupathi in collaboration with Department of Health, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The center is having one Medical Officer supported by 1 Assistant Medical Officer, 2 ANMs, Community Organizer headed by a Project Coordinator. As most of the poor are depending on unorganized sector and to suit their timings, the UHC works from 8 A.M to 2 P.M since its inception in 2000.
The services provided by the center are
- Immunization
- Examination of out-patients
- Medication for out-patients and Referral services
