Inauguration of Seva Nilayam of Rass

Rashtriya Seva Samithi, mobilized resources for construction of its’ own office head quarters with putting much of its efforts. The premises were visualized as a modest house for the services to the needy. This should work as a prayer house for all the religions and especially for the poor and excluded. The founder general secretary dreamt about the premises as a place where all the prayers come into action to the needy and vulnerable sections of the society. With his mighty will power he is able to construct the land mark for the needy.

 

The premise was inaugurated by His Excellency, Dr. ABJ Abdul Kalam, Former President of India, on 20th November 2003. In the meet he appealed the participant populace to participate in the development process of their families, which in turn the development providers, like RASS will create an opportunity to the people and it is not possible to any of the agency to develop a family without their participation. He applauded children’s education, which in turn develop the nation with greater speed. Later, he pronounced and asked all the citizens who attended the meet to make a promise in his presence about the 10 critical factors that include the process of development of individual, family and the nation as a whole. He appealed the rural populations and the voluntary sector to keep in phase to establish the urban facilities in rural areas and he explained about the government of India is working for the same through Provision of Urban facilities in Rural Areas (PURA). Later, he released the souvenir explaining about the activities of RASS for the last two decades and appreciated the organization for its outstanding and long lasting services to the needy and the unreached with holistic approach instead of piecemeal approach.

 

Mr. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Surjit Sigh Barnala, Former Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Sri. K. Siva Prasad, Former Home Minister of A.P, Sri. C. Krishnamoorthy, MLA, Sri B. Gopalakrishna Reddy, MLA, other dignitaries are participated and applauded the event. The former President of RASS, Ms. Nirmala Deshpande observed all the proceedings in person. Renowned dignitaries from government, voluntary sector, academics, press and media, development activists and around 20000 women of RASS SHGs, farmers, youth are participated in the event.
