Climate Change Adaptation – Soil Health Project
With the changing climate, productivity is influenced as well as the farmer’s well-being. The ultimate challenges with the fast changes in the climate of agriculture are water and soil. With the increased usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, the residuals in the soils are long-lasting and badly affecting productivity. It is important to prepare the farming community to be ready to adapt to the changes in climate.
With this background, RASS has initiated a project, covering two watershed areas, to improve adaptation to climate variability in the farm sector with better management and maintenance of soil and water regime enabling better crop productivity and the resultant increase in income.
