Programmes for the Aged

The increasing urbanization on one hand, and the breaking up of joint family system on the other, had resulted in the aged being neglected.  The aged do not receive proper attention and the support they deserve.  The neglect of the aged is particularly serious in case of the poor.  In order to alleviate the sufferings of the aged, RASS has undertaken several activities with the assistance of Government of India and Help Age India.

Day Care Centers for the Aged

A chain of day care centers for the aged, who have been subject to neglect and destitution, in the rural areas has been established.  Each of these centers is extending services to as many as 50 aged persons providing nutritional food, medical services, recreation and income earning avenues.  The programme is in operation with the support of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
